Thomas Moran's vision of the Western landscape was critical to the creation of Yellowstone National Park. Siegmund Wilhelm List (May 14, 1880 ?C August 17, 1971), was a German field marshal during World War II, and at the start of the war was based in Slovakia in command of the Fourteenth Army. List was born in Oberkirchberg near Ulm, Weerttemberg, Germany in 1880 and entered the Bavarian Army in 1898 as a cadet. In 1900 he was promoted to Lieutenant and in 1913 he joined the general staff as a Hauptmann. He served as a staff officer in World War I. After the war List stayed in the Reichswehr and most of his assignments were as an administrator. In 1927 he was promoted to Oberst, in 1930 he was promoted to General-Major and in 1932 he was promoted to General-Leutnant. In 1938 after the Anschluss of Austria he was made responsible for integrating the Bundesheer into the Wehrmacht. During 1939 List commanded the German 14th Army in the invasion of Poland. From 1939 to 1941 he commanded the German 12th Army in France and Greece. During 1941 he was Commander-in-Chief South-East. In July 1942 he was Commander-in-Chief of Army Group A on the Eastern Front in the Soviet Union.
Tadeusz Ajdukiewicz
1852 in Wieliczka ?C January 9, 1916 in Krak??w) was a Polish painter. From 1868 to 1873, he followed Władysław Luszczkiewicz classes in the Fine art school of Krakow. Later, he was in Vienna and Munich and in J??zef Brandt's atelier. In 1877, he travelled to Paris and Near East. In 1882, he lived in Vienna, where he worked for the aristocracy. In 1883, he went to London, where he made Prince of Wales' portrait. In 1884, to Constantinople, he was sultan Abdhulhamid II's guest. And he woked later in Sofia, Saint Petersburg and Bucharest. He joined the Polish Legions in 1914, during World War I, and he died in one of the battles of this war. He's first cousin was Zygmunt Ajdukiewicz.
Juan Antonio Ribera Y Fernandez
1779-1860 was a Spanish painter, born at Madrid. He first studied under Francisco Bayeu and enrolled into the Royal Academy of San Fernando, but afterwards went to Paris and become the pupil of Jacques-Louis David. There he painted his Cincinnatus which is now in the Prado Museum. In course of time he went to Rome, and in 1811 was appointed painter to Carlos IV and member of the Academy of St. Luke; and in 1820, honorary member of the Academy of San Fernando. In 1838 he was made professor, and two years afterwards Director of the Prado. He died at Madrid.
